Fall has been busy here at the Rae Strong Foundation! With the Holidays quickly approaching and Thanksgiving already past us, we have been going full-throttle to support families that need it the most this time of year!
Before we recap what Rae Strong has been up to, we want to remind everyone that Giving Tuesday is in just TWO DAYS! This December 3rd, this global generosity movement empowers people and organizations to help the communities around them and transform the world for the better. Rae Strong is proudly a part of this movement and all donations we receive on Giving Tuesday will go towards providing holiday gifts to Preemie Families at the Loyola-Chicago NICU. We thank you in advance for helping us celebrate Giving Tuesday and supporting Preemie Families!
What We’ve Been Up To…
Strive Volleyball – Passion Into Purpose
Way back in August, Strive Volleyball was generous enough to have the Rae Strong Foundation as their charity of the month for a skills camp. We thank them for their generosity in spreading our name, raising money for preemie families, and teaching the good sport of volleyball to the youth!
Playing For Preemies Night – October 25th
Lewis Women’s Volleyball hosted Playing For Preemies Night toward the end of October, and like always, it was a huge success. Fans were treated to new Rae Strong branding and new additions to our Playing For Preemies apparel line (click here for more information). Most importantly, though, we honored Clare and her family for everything they’ve endured and let them know Rae Strong has their back every step of the way. Read about their courageous story here!
World Prematurity Day of Giving
November 17th was World Prematurity Day of Giving, the global holiday raising money and supporting preemie baby families. We thank everyone who donated so we could reach our 1-day $1000 goal that will be used for holiday gifts for Preemie Families! It’s so great that Preemies are celebrated around the globe and we couldn’t be more proud to help get more people involved.
GuidePoint Security Charity Texas Hold ‘Em
Rae Strong board member Dan FioRito introduced us to GuidePoint Security, who held a charity Texas Hold ‘Em poker event on November 20th and they graciously had us as the featured charity for the evening! Being our first event outside of sports, we couldn’t be more grateful for their hospitality and help, as the night helped Rae Strong raise over $3200! With the success, we are extremely excited to share what other events are on the horizon for Rae Strong that will benefit Preemie Families in the future!
Thank you to everyone that has made this fall an unforgettable one for the Rae Strong Foundation! We look forward to a strong Giving Tuesday and an even better Holiday season!
